Tess Gerritsen’in
dünyasını ve kalemini ne kadar sevdiğimden bahsetmiştim. Bu yazı Rizzoli &
Isles serisinin sondan ikinci kitabı hakkında olacak. Sona kalanı okumaya yeni
başladım. Biter bitmez bu deha ürünü hakkında da görüşlerimi bildireceğim.
Bahsetmek
istediğim kitap ise Sessiz Kız.
Orijinal adı
Silent Girl olan – kitap adı için yayın evi Doğan Kitap’a teşekkür ederim-
Sessiz Kız Çin mahallesinde yaşanan
olayların kayıp kız vakasıyla bağlantısını anlatıyor. Sadece bu kadar da değil.
Üstelik bu sefer işin içine Çin kültürü de dahil oluyor. Tarihi ve mitolojiyi
seven biri olarak Tess Gerritsen’in Maymun Kral efsanesine yer vermesi beni çok
memnun etti. Kitap için farklı bir tat verdiği su götürmez bir gerçek. Üstelik
böylesi kült gerçeklerden bahseden bir kitabı okurken bile bir anlığına acaba
bu gerçek mi diye düşünüyorsunuz.
Peki kitap da
başka ne bulabilirsiniz?
Çin kültürü için
sadece maymun kral denilmesi yanlış olur. Dövüş sanatları da yer tutuyor. Eğer
bu tür hoşunuza gidiyorsa size sadece şunu söyleyebilirim ki seriden farklı bir
yere sahip bir kitabı elinizde tutuyorsunuz. Polisiye kitapların çoğunda
sayfalar ilerledikçe birilerini ölü bulursunuz. En son sayfaya kadar sürekli
ceset sayısı artar. Elbette cesetler var ama bu kitap için tek gerçek değil.
Daha çok efsaneler üzerinden ve çin kültüründen ilerliyorsunuz. Aklınızdaki tek
soru katil kim olmuyor.
Aslında benim
için işlenen cinayetin hiç bir önemi yoktu. Çünkü bu cinayet size ve Jane’I bir
katliama yönlendiriyor ve işlerin rengi değişiyor. Karmaşık bağların bir bütün
halini aldığı bu kitap için ne denir bilemiyorum.
Beklediğim kesin
bir son olduğunu söyleyemem. Doğrusu kitabın sonuna kadar kahramanlarımız gibi
benim de kafam biraz karışıktı. Neler olduğunu çözmeye çalışmaktan işi kimin
yaptığına zaman ayıramadım. Fakat bunu kötü anlamda anlamayın. Kitap kesinlikle
bir bütüne sahip ve olaylar arasında bağlantı kurmanız zor değil. Demek istediğim
bu sefer işler Cerrah’ı aramaya benzemiyor.
Değinmek
istediğim bir diğer noktaysa bu sefer olaylar etrafında en çok Jane’I görüyoruz.
Bir bakıma bu kitap benim seriden ikinci favorim olan Buz Gibi Soğuk ile denge
kuruyor. –Okuyanlar bilir ki Buz Gibi Soğuk Maura Isles için hayatta kalma
savaşıydı, dolayısıyla bir Isles romanıydı.-
Bir diğer etken
ise Jonny. Ekibe sürekli olarak katılır mı bilemem –çünkü sonraki kitapta henüz
ortaya çıkmadı- fakat bu kitap için kendisine biçilen rol kesinlikle harikaydı.
Jonny benim için –her ne kadar öyle yansıtılmasa da- güvenilmez bir tip.
Rüzgarın ne zaman nereden eseceği belli olmaz. Yine de serinin Jonny gibi bir
karaktere ihtiyacı vardı.
Küçük bir
spoiler~
Bir blogda bunun
iki karakterimizi de ölüme en çok yaklaştıran kitap olduğunu okumuş ve o
hevesle almıştım. Ama hayal kırıklığı oldu. Benim için Jane’I ölüme yaklaştıran
kitap kendi ve kızının mezarını kazdırıldığı kitaptı. Mezar sahnesinden bile sonra
Jane’in kötü sesiyle kızına ninni söylemesi beni bu kitaptaki her sahneden daha
çok sarsmıştı.
Son olarak zaten
seriyi severek okuyan biriyseniz bu kitap sizin için bir günde bitirebileceğiniz
ve Vay Be! Diyebileceğiniz bir kitap. Fakat henüz seriye başlamadıysanız lütfen
Cerrah’ın ve size bekleyen diğer kitaplara doğru unutulmaz bir yolculuğa çıkın.
Mümkünse Cerrah’I okurken diziye de başlarsanız etkisini artıracağını
söyleyebilirim.

I talked about
that how I admire Tess Gerritsen’s world and style. This article is about the
Rizzoli&Isles series’ penultimate book. I just started to read Last to Die,
so the writing about this book will be here within the next few days.
However, today I
will talk about Silent Girl.
Cases are related
with Chinatown in Boston. There are also some missing girl issues which related
with these cases in Chinatown. But it is not the end of story. Tess Gerritsen
represent to us a new also ancient world of China with own culture. As a person who likes history and mythology I
fall in love with Sun Wukong, Monkey King, and legend. It definitely gives
another taste to this amazing series. As all of us know, Tess Gerritsen’s
novels talk about the real – mostly deadly ones-, on the other hand the legend
of Monkey King makes you think about unreal issues, like a giant “hero” monkey.
So, what about
the other issues?
For culture of
China, Monkey King is not the only case. Art of fight – maybe a little assassination-
of China is on the list of the book. If you like this kind, I can tell you that
this novel led you go another world, even the previous books of series. You know,
every criminal book has many victims, while you continue to change pages of books.
Of course this book has victims but this is not the case that captures you. The
only question is not who is the murderer.
Actually the
crime in the beginning is nothing for me. Because this crime –murder- is guide
you and Jane Rizzoli to another crime which is much bigger and conflict one. I
cannot say that I guessed the end of book. The book has a unity, but I do not
care about the murderer. The questions about Legend of Monkey King were much
more crucial for me.
Other issue that
I like to talk about is this is a Jane Rizzoli book. We always saw Jane rather
than Maura. This gave the balance
between books – Ice Cold and Silent Girl-. I must be admitting that Tess
Gerritsen is a mastermind.
Also, we have
Jonny in that book. Yet, I do not trust that boy. You cannot know where the
wind will blow. Still, the series needed a character like Jonny.
A little spoiler~
I read blogs
about Slient Girl, and one of them talks about that this book was the much more
deadly one for Jane Rizzoli. Actually, this is not correct for me. When Jane
dig her and her baby girl’s grave, this is the most dangerous part of her life.
I was affected so bad when she starts to lullaby with her “bad” voice.
Lastly, ıf you
already start the Rizzoli & Isles series, I give you guarantee that you
admire Silent Girl. And, ıf you do not know anything about the Rizzoli &
Isles, please start with The Surgeon and go on an unforgettable travel.
